Cruisy park on the west side of Lawrence below the dam. There is almost every kind of activity in the park The best area is to the south of the outlet. North of the outlet is a dog run but the south area is not used much, but if you turn left on a gravel road before dog park, very private area at the end - the Sesquicentennial Park that ends in a small roundabout. Can see cars coming from a long way off.
This is a very scenic area, with lots of trees and secluded paths. The trails run for miles in each direction, away from the parking lot. The cruising areas are generally on the trails south of the parking lot, closest to the river, which is more secluded.
Trails along the river are best in the early morning, or later in the evening otherwise it's a dog park didn't used to be that way but between noon and about 7 pm it's a dog park along the trails, not safe trails have a lot of tree cover if you want to do naked sunbathing.
